Abstract

In order to learn how heavy rainfalls and floods have affected the lives of the people of Basti Ahmadani and its union council, Shadan Lund, as well as Sanjar Haider village, Makwal union council, of the Taunsa Sharif district of DG Khan, this study examines the loss and damage of homes, livestock, and crops in these areas. Interviews with flood victims were conducted using a qualitative approach; data were given in Excel, and the interviews were recorded and transcribed so that codes could be derived from the data.Damage to homes, livestock, crops, and infrastructure in the Union Council Shadan Lund of Basti Ahmadani and the Union Council Makwal village of Sanjar Haider Ali was documented through interviews. Social conditions would worsen as a result of the economic constraints experienced by flood-affected areas.  In conclusion, the 2022 floods in Pakistan serve as a cautionary tale regarding the consequences of insufficient preparation for extreme precipitation. Urgent worldwide action is needed to mitigate the effects of climate change. In the face of these challenges, it is urgent that we take action to address climate events by implementing measures, such an early warning system and recommendations, that will help lessen the likelihood and severity of future catastrophes and safeguard the most at-risk populations.
